
Architecture Camp - Middle School
(Grades 7 - 9)
Residential and Day Camp July 6 - 11, 2008
This Architecture Camp was developed to introduce young people to the design of the built environment. The workshops are sponsored by The Southern Illinois Chapter of the American Institute of Architects, the School of Architecture, and the College of Applied Sciences and Arts, in cooperation with the Division of Continuing Education at Southern Illinois University Carbondale.
Architecture Camp Objectives:
Participants will develop an understanding of the following:
- Why buildings look the way they do.
- Why buildings stand up.
- What architects and interior designers do.
- Design drawing as a problem solving tool/method.
- The design process used by architects and interior designers.
- How a building is designed, constructed, used, and reused.
- Construction materials used in building.
- How and why people
Program Date: July 6 - 11, 2008
Program Times: Check-in at assigned residence hall: Sunday, 3-4:00 PM
Camp: Monday - Friday, Various Times
Program Location: SIUC, Quigley Hall
Registration Deadline: Online Registration Deadline June 30, 2008 at noon.

Program Requirement: The Academic Medical/Photo Release Form must be submitted to the Division of Continuing Education prior to a camp in order for your child to attend.
