
10th Annual Young Writers Workshop
June 24 - 28, 2008
The Young Writers Workshop is a five-day program designed to give high school sophomores, juniors and seniors the chance to explore and develop their talents in poetry and prose writing. Students will hone their writing skills by participating in daily critique sessions lead by SIUC faculty, and by attending panels, readings, and craft discussions lead by SIUC creative writing faculty and graduate students.
The Younkin-Rivera Prizes for Young Writers at Southern Illinois University Carbondale.
This is a nationwide competition for creative writers aged 15 - 18. Entries will be accepted during the month of April in the genres of poetry and prose. The prize in each category is $250 and a full tuition scholarship to the 10th Annual Young Writers Workshop. Program Requirement: The Academic Medical/Photo Release Form must be submitted to the Division of Continuing Education prior to a camp in order for your child to attend.
