LIR - Donuts and a Tour of the New Powell Hall

Donuts and a Tour of the New Powell Hall! On Friday, October 16, LIR OnTheGo will head to St. Louis for a day at Powell Hall. The day will begin with donuts and the first St. Louis Symphony Coffee Concert of the 2026-27 season. Later we will tour the symphony's newly remodeled facilities. The concert, titled "Scenes from the Rhine," is a celebration of European folk music. It will feature Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 21 and Schumann's Symphony No. 3, "The Rhenish," as well as the American premier of a new Estonian work. After a 12:30 lunch at the St. Louis Food Hall (where choices range from Hawaiian to waffles and Cajun to burgers), we will return to Powell Hall for a 70-minute walking tour of the facility. If you have difficulty standing/walking for 70 minutes, please let Events and Outreach know when you register, and we will ask for accommodations, meaning that we will be seated during the docent lectures. Our bus will leave at 7:15 a.m. from the south parking lot of the Banterra Center and return by 5:45. Parking at Banterra is free. Registration is now open. It will close September 9 at noon. Cost of the trip is $145.00 plus the cost of the lunch of your choice. We have tickets for just 30 attendees so please register early!
